Today was a very trying day. I get to the animal shelter with my camera out ready to go. Memory Card Empty. I left my memory card in my computer from last night. Sad day. I went back to the office, got my memory card and ventured on back to the animal shelter. Luckily, this whole experience only took thirty minutes but that was thirty minutes I could have had shooting. So trying to move on, I head into the cat room. Red light comes on. My battery is about to die. Very sad day.
I was able to take all the pictures I need; the low battery life lasted the full ninety minutes I was there…so there’s my silver lining.
LESSON OF THE DAY:
Be Prepared.
Always check the camera before leaving
AND
Always charge the battery.
You just saved my life... I was going to leave after reading posts and I realized that my memory card was in my computer... THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I helped you out :)
ReplyDeleteWise words indeed! I'm glad you were able to get your images. This is one reason I use a USB cable to transfer my images. There are many days I would leave the house without my head if it weren't attached!
ReplyDelete&Karen I agree. So many things to remember but I'll for sure will not forget again. Lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteI have had this same problem more times than I would like. Thanks for sharing to save others from the pain.
ReplyDeleteTwo tips. 1. If you can afford a spare memory card, by it. 2. Get in the habit each night of downloading your photos, recharging your battery, and make sure they are back in the camera before you go to bed—kind of like brushing your teeth.
@Professor Johnstone Great advice. Sounds like my new plan!
